Hi! My name is Meagan, and I am senior in high school. Throughout my high school experience I have encountered some of the more difficult scenarios that most kids my age have never had to deal with. I feel that I will be able to relate to a lot of teens who need help.
Freshman year my mother was diagnosed with Colon Cancer, and at the beginning of my sophomore year my parents split up. Right before my junior started, my mom was re-diagnosed with cancer, and she has been trying to fight it for the past year and a half. I have also had to deal with the loss of my three grandparents, whom have all died in the past two and a half years.
Not only was my junior the hardest year academically, but emotionally too. I ended up doing the best I ever had in school during one of the toughest times in my life. This experience made me realize how strong I truly am, and that I can use this to not only help myself, but help others as well.
